Im pretty saddened by this, I hope I can fix it. Support Audioengines support team is standing by to assist you with all your questions. I really dont know which of these is causing the problem, the dac/amp or the headphones. I find that when you stop the audio stream and start again, it goes back to normal. Also when it bugs out, i can hear this relatively low volume signal pop in my right earcup, and again it lags out a game or a video im watching. This DAC is not very resilient with sample rate changes. Also sometimes it would cut out completely and Id have to somehow restart the dac playing around with cables and stuff and switching the modes on it.Ī couple of points: the dac is still connected through the power extension cord and the amp is plugged onto the wall (just like it was during the time period yesterday where it worked for a long time with only an error every couple of hours. This morning it started bugging again, like once 1-10min and when I was gaming it would kinda lag the game when its happening and also in youtube itd refresh on its own/glitch for a second. So I kept switching things up and finally when I tried plugging the amp cable into the wall and restarted the computer again it stopped bugging and I would experience a bug like once 1-2 hours and it didnt bother me. I thought it was like my power extension cord where i had the huge amp cable plugged into an iphone slot n it had lack of electricity or something. Music heard through the Audioengine D1 doesn’t sound merely decent but also is emotionally involving. So at first it worked fine with a few bugs within like 10-30mins and then it would start bugging every minute and so. The D1 was easily better than good, and while it didn’t outperform the 3200 April Music Eximus DP1 DAC/Pre or 1495 Wyred4Sound DAC2, it did deliver nearly their level of sonic finesse. Step 2 - Connect the analog output of your D1 to any audio input of your active speakers, stereo, etc. For Mac, under System Preferences/Sound, select Audioengine D1. For PC, the D1 should be recognized automatically. And atm it kinda still happens but without the msg and it would refresh the page on its own. Step 1 - Connect the D1 to your computer USB port. In youtube I would get "audio renderer" issues where it would force me to refresh the page. Now I came home plugged all the stuff in and it would cut out sometimes n the sound would stop for a second or two.

When not moving/touching anything the D1 works perfectly. So the other day I got dt1990, jds atom and Topping d30 and I used it with my brothers pc and there were no problems as I remember. I thought the power was cutting out but the power LED/button never actually turns off. Back in action, with fantastic audio Pros: Plug and play. Music does cut out momentarily during the clicking, but only for a fraction of a second (as long as it takes for the "click" to happen). This unit does an excellent job of converting the optical out to solve this problem. Note that the power button itself makes a mechanical clicking noise when pushed, but this is NOT what I'm referring to. The clicks sound similar to when you turn the power on or off (the normal on/off noise sounds like a half-click in comparisson) Here is a video I made that shows what I mean: In the video I turned the unit on and off first so you can compare the noises (it takes about 2.5 seconds for the initial powering-on "click" power-off click is instantaneous).

Just touching the D1 can sometimes trigger a series of clicks, but it's unpredictable when it'll happen. This also happens when the volume knob or power button is moved, though not as often as with the USB cable. The unit creates a loud clicking noise when the USB cable is moved around. I'm hoping someone can share some knowledge about what's happening with my amp/DAC. So I sent their support team an email already but I'll make a post here also.
